Meerkat Friends was amazing! My husband and I got to have private time with meerkats climbing on our laps, as well as petting cats, wallabys, and raccoons. A wild cat sat on our shoulders and we hand fed a very gentle raccoon. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the animals seemed very happy and loving.

Say goodbye to my glasses, which have been with me for over 25 years. Ever since I started having myopia in junior high, I've always found glasses a hassle. Playing basketball without contact lenses can easily lead to injuries. Water activities can be difficult to see and dangerous. I've long considered having myopia surgery, but I was intimidated by the traditional method. It involved peeling the iris and then performing laser treatment. I heard the procedure was uncomfortable and the recovery period was long. Fearing any potential complications, I was hesitant to get surgery. In the past two years, I've seen the Smile myopia surgery, which doesn't require peeling the iris. After careful research, I've discovered that the technology is mature and safe, with a very low failure rate, a quick recovery period, and few side effects. Just think about it: You only live once, so do whatever you want to do! A friend had this surgery in Taiwan. After asking around, I thought it was very feasible. However, the price was surprisingly high, around NT$120,000. This gave me pause. Then Google's algorithm came to the rescue, bringing up a ton of successful laser eye surgery cases in South Korea. I started researching safety and pricing, and discovered that the same surgery in South Korea only costs around NT$50,000! This surgery in South Korea is practically affordable, with a very high success rate. I asked friends who know Koreans about it, and they seem to be genetically predisposed to myopia, so surgery is a very common procedure for them. After careful consideration, I decided to go to South Korea for this surgery. The price difference between South Korea and Taiwan was such that I still had a good deal on flights, hotel, and tours. There are so many eye clinics in South Korea that offer this type of surgery. After comparing options, I decided on Mingmu Eye Clinic in Seoul. Then I searched around and found the website Creatrip. I used this website to book my Smile myopia surgery at Mingmu Eye Clinic. The total cost was 2.3 million Korean won, equivalent to about 50,000 Taiwanese dollars. They also included a large amount of post-operative eye drops and other essential supplies. I also used this website to book other trips during this trip. Highly recommended! Before booking myopia surgery in Korea, it's recommended to visit an ophthalmologist in Taiwan for an eye exam. The cost is generally under 500, and some are even free. The most important thing is to determine your myopia level, astigmatism, and any other issues. Most importantly, corneal thickness is crucial; if it's too thin, surgery won't be possible. Therefore, it's highly recommended to get an eye exam in Taiwan now! I had a checkup in Taiwan first. Everything met the criteria for surgery before I scheduled the surgery in Korea. My myopia is 175° and my astigmatism is 25°. This myopia surgery addresses both issues at once. I really think it's a great deal. On the day of surgery, I went to the Eye Clinic. It's a truly spacious and luxurious clinic. It doesn't feel like a hospital, but more like a high-end office. A Chinese interpreter will accompany you throughout the entire process. The eye exam takes about two hours. The recommended surgical plan is confirmed in about 30 minutes. The surgery itself takes less than five minutes. The interpreter will be with you the entire time and will provide gentle and thoughtful answers. It's truly thoughtful and completely dispelled my initial nervousness. The exam was similar to that in Taiwan. However, the difference was that the eye examination was performed by two different optometrists for a cross-examination. I think this is very professional and helps prevent any problems. As for the treatment plan, I chose the basic Smile Surgery package for 2.3 million Korean won. They also offer other procedures and add-on options, but I don't think I'll need any of them. For example, corneal enhancement, because my cornea is thicker than average, I don't need that. Dry eye treatment After researching this, I decided it was too risky, so I gave up. Even though my tear test was relatively poor. The next day after the Smile procedure, my eyes were basically back to 1.0, though they would be a bit dry and I would need to use artificial tears constantly. After choosing the procedure, I went to the surgery itself. The director personally performed the procedure. I expected it to be painful, but it was completely painless. The translator told me that some people experience a slight pulling sensation when the doctor removes the membrane after the laser treatment, but I didn't feel anything at all... The procedure involves: After disinfection, anesthetic drops are administered, but I didn't feel anything at all. Then, on the operating table, when the laser treatment begins, you'll be asked to stare at a green dot of light. After the light disappears, don't move; just keep looking at the original spot. This was also very simple, taking about 10 seconds per eye. Then, the membrane was removed. That didn't feel anything either, and it was also over in about 10 seconds. The entire procedure actually took less than five minutes. I was stunned. I'd made 50,000 yuan out of it. The ophthalmologist is really stupid. Hahaha, but I still think it was worth it. After all, it costs over 100,000 in Taiwan. Doesn't that mean Taiwanese doctors?!? After the surgery, everything looked foggy. I couldn't walk alone, and I couldn't even look at my phone. This lasted about 30 minutes. Then I started using artificial tears relentlessly, and everything returned to normal. After about an hour, I could see clearly even at a distance. It was truly amazing. However, close up on my phone was still a little blurry. But after using artificial tears every ten minutes, this problem completely resolved itself after about three hours. I even went out for dinner with my family and even stayed out late. The only pain during the entire procedure was a slight stinging sensation when I got home and applied the anti-inflammatory medication. It went away after a few seconds, like shampoo getting in my eyes. The next day, my eyes were dry, but the stinging went away after the medication. I then went back for a checkup, and it was fine. I think that's great. The doctor will thoroughly review your condition. It's been about three days since the surgery, and aside from a bit of dryness, I've had no issues at all. I use artificial tears when it gets dry. Being able to see the world clearly without glasses is truly wonderful. I highly recommend this surgery. Your life will truly be different. I've also seen that presbyopia can be cured. I'll have to try it when I have presbyopia myself. Hahaha.
