This is the birthplace of Yulgok Yi I (pen name: Yulgok), a scholar and politician of the Joseon Dynasty. Built in the early Joseon period, it was designated as a treasure in 1963 and has historical value.
Inside the house is Mongnyongsil, where Yulgok was born, as well as various buildings such as Munseongsa (a family shrine), Sarangchae (men's quarters), Eojaegak, Yulgok Memorial Hall, and Gangneung City Museum.

In a space of about 1,500㎡, 12 diverse digital media art works are exhibited.

Woljeongsa Temple
The Woljeongsa pine forest trail is about 1km long, with over 1,700 fir and pine trees standing tall towards the sky.
