Our Visit
Today, I visited the main AM:TON store near Hapjeong Station. From the exterior to the interior, AM:TON’s unique and detailed design instantly catches the eye of passersby. From the gold standing sign at the entrance to the powder room on the first floor decorated with pink tiles, every corner of the space exudes a sense of artistry.
The interior, like the white-toned exterior, is predominantly decorated in white, with wooden accents throughout that create a harmonious and warm atmosphere.
When the editor arrived, they were guided upstairs where many customers were already getting their hair done. In the center of the second floor, a large table was set up for enjoying tea and reading, giving the space more of a café vibe than a typical salon. As soon as they sat down, tea and snacks were served. The editor then had a consultation with Mei, the designer in charge of coloring, and after discussing options, they decided on two rounds of bleaching, a hair clinic treatment, and a blue balayage color.
The wall bookshelf was stocked with books in both Korean and English, as well as AM:TON magazines, so there was never a dull moment. Some customers getting their hair done were reading, while others were on their smartphones, and everyone seemed to be spending the afternoon full of anticipation for their new hairstyles.
The bleaching process involves evenly applying the bleach, applying heat, rinsing with a purple shampoo, and then massaging the scalp with a special hair treatment. Finally, the hair is blow-dried and the process is repeated once more.
It’s clear that bleaching is essential if you want the color to come out beautifully!
The photo below shows the hair right after two rounds of bleaching. It definitely looks much more vibrant and resilient than before! A face mask was provided to protect the eyes from the bleach and dye. About 25 minutes later, after rinsing the hair, a scalp massage with hair serum and treatment was given, leaving the editor feeling completely relaxed.
Finally, the balayage coloring was truly amazing! The hairstyle turned out completely different from before, and thanks to Designer Mei’s careful attention, it was finished with beautiful volume and a perfectly polished look.
After finishing, we received shampoo samples and a set of L’Oréal hair care products! The AM:TON designer team also offers additional services to help clients maintain healthy, shiny hair even outside the salon.
