Our Visit

Today, I visited “Warm N Cool Personal Color Diagnosis Gangnam Main Branch” located in Sinnonhyeon, Gangnam.

If you exit from Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 1 and walk straight, it’s just a 2-minute walk away, so it was easy to find even for a first-time visitor.

This is an all-in-one space where you can receive not only personal color diagnosis but also body type analysis and makeup consulting all at once!

Go into the store entrance on the 2nd floor of the building, take off your shoes at the shoe rack, and change into indoor slippers before entering.

On the wall next to the shoe rack, there are autographs and photos of famous celebrities’ TV appearances,

so you can immediately feel the long-standing know-how and credibility of this place.

First, to receive the personal color diagnosis, I filled out a pre-consultation interview form.

For a more accurate diagnosis, I carefully wrote down my preferred colors, makeup style, and desired image.

The full-scale consulting began based on the contents of the pre-interview sheet.

They identified my basic information and usual style, and even checked the makeup products I normally use in person.

They meticulously checked one by one whether I was using them well to match the image I was aiming for.

Before starting the full diagnosis, they briefly explained the basic theory related to personal color.

By using visual materials to deliver the key concepts in an easy and informative way, it was much easier to understand, and my anticipation for the upcoming diagnosis grew.

We moved to another spot and started the diagnosis with a skin tone measurement.

It was really fascinating that they didn’t just check with the naked eye, but analyzed using a professional colorimeter!

Based on the numerical results, the editor’s brightness level was suitable for shade 21 or even a bit lighter.

They wrote the numbers directly on the diagnosis sheet and organized everything thoroughly once again.

Seeing my skin tone confirmed with objective numbers made it feel more trustworthy, and I thought it would be a big help in choosing makeup or base colors in the future.

Along with skin tone, they also carefully checked my natural hair and eye color.

Now, the full-scale personal color diagnosis began.

I was surprised to see that there were far more types of drape fabrics prepared than I expected.

They used as many as 300 different color fabrics for the diagnosis, which made me think they are truly dedicated to color.

They placed each fabric on my face, analyzing whether my skin looked dull or lively,

and carefully examined various factors, such as whether nasolabial folds or dark circles became more prominent.

As a result, when divided into warm and cool tones, the editor was diagnosed as being closer to a “warm tone” type.

This time, I received a more detailed diagnosis to subdivide the tones within the warm category.

Considering various factors such as brightness, saturation, and the clarity of my facial contours, I was diagnosed as having an “Autumn Muted Soft Tone”!

Colors that are too bright can make my face look a bit puffy, while colors that are too dark can make me look less lively,

so they explained that mid-saturation colors look the most natural and harmonious on me.

In order: best and worst tones!

The best tones added vibrancy and glow to my face, making my skin tone look clear and refined.

On the other hand, the worst tones made me look dull, and things like dark circles and wrinkles stood out, making my overall impression seem blurred.

Comparing them directly like this, I could really feel which colors suited me, so it was truly helpful!

Again, they carefully wrote down the diagnosis results and provided easy-to-understand explanations, so I was able to understand much better.

I was impressed by how the initial theory explanation and the actual diagnosis results connected naturally, and it was really fascinating.

I was able to comfortably ask questions about things I was usually curious about, and it was a huge help because they explained everything specifically so I could apply it right away in real life.

This wasn't the end—lastly, I even got a hair color recommendation!

While looking at the hair color sample board together, they directly pointed out which colors matched my face tone well.

Since I am an ‘Autumn Muted Soft Tone,’ they recommended ash brown shades without any red tones, saying they would look the most natural and sophisticated on me.

Now, it's time to move to another room and get a body shape analysis.

Just like the previous consultation, the first step was to fill out a simple pre-interview form to check my usual fashion style and the image I want to pursue.

Based on this information, they prepared so I could receive an even more personalized analysis and styling guide.

Based on what I wrote, the consultant explained everything one by one and carried out a thorough analysis.

Overall, the consultation took place in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere, so I was able to participate without any pressure,

and it was really amazing and fun how they pinpointed the style I usually go for!

Body shape analysis was a bit unfamiliar compared to personal color analysis, but it was nice that they started by explaining some simple theory.

Body shape analysis isn’t simply determined by height, weight, or age,

but rather, it identifies the body’s central balance based on innate physical structure, such as shoulders, pelvis, and limb proportions,

and then suggests the most harmonious styling direction accordingly.

It was especially useful that it wasn’t just a simple body type classification, but actually connected to how you wear clothes, so you could apply it right away in daily life!

First, they felt the bones in my hand to determine the basic foundation of my body type.

Of course, you can’t get a definitive result from just this one thing,

but it was really amazing and interesting that you could get a sense of your overall skeletal structure and which body type you’re closest to by feeling the thickness and texture of the hand bones.

This time, I stood up and the consultant checked my skeleton directly.

They carefully felt from my shoulders to my waist, pelvis, and knees to diagnose my skeletal type,

and as a result, they said I was closest to the 'straight type' body shape!

They gave a detailed explanation about this body type after we returned to our seats.

This time, they used a neckline diagnosis cloth to see which neckline suited my face best.

Taking into account various factors like face shape, shoulder width, and neck length, I was recommended a slightly open V-neck line as the most flattering.

On the other hand, they said it would be better to avoid turtlenecks, which can make the neck look stuffy, or off-shoulder styles that completely expose the shoulders.

Besides that, I was able to directly compare many different neckline types one by one, so I think it will be a big help when styling in the future.

After finishing the neckline analysis, they also recommended necklace styles that would suit me!

Considering my face shape, neck length, and thickness, they said that a slightly longer necklace would suit me well.

They explained that a chain with a regular pattern and a moderate thickness—not too thin or too thick—would be the most ideal.

Thanks to the detailed explanations and recommendations for even just a necklace, I was able to understand much better and apply it right away in daily life.

This time, I also checked which accessory styles suit me by trying on ring and bracelet samples!

There were so many different types and designs prepared, it really felt like I was in a small jewelry shop :)

I was able to freely try on various types of rings and bracelets myself and check which styles suited me.

Not only the colors, but also the designs and chain thicknesses could be compared, so it was a very informative time.

Thanks to this, I was able to try styles I usually wouldn’t attempt, and I really enjoyed it.

Then, back at my seat, they went over the diagnosis sheet summarizing the results and explained everything in detail, one by one.

For the ‘straight type’ body shape, since muscles are well-developed, straight elements or simple styles suit best, they said.

Based on this, they explained not only the fit, texture, and patterns of clothes that suit me,

but also gave overall styling tips, from accessories to shoes and bags, making it a truly worthwhile session.

This time, for the face shape analysis, they measured my face length by dividing it into upper, middle, and lower sections.

Having the analysis based on these objective measurements made it much more trustworthy,

and I really liked being able to hear explanations based on precise standards, not just vague impressions.

Based on the measured numbers, I was diagnosed with a ‘long heart-shaped’ face!

A long heart-shaped face is characterized by a longer vertical length, more prominent cheekbones than the jaw, and a pointed chin.

Using this face shape as a basis, they went over suitable hair styling, neckline, jewelry, and even glasses styles one by one,

and explained in detail how to actually make use of them.

It didn’t just end with a body shape analysis,

but there was also time to actually try on accessories or glasses and experience which styles suited me, which was really fun!

On top of that, they also recommended practical styling tips to highlight my strengths in everyday life, so it was a very informative and satisfying experience :)

This time, I moved to the makeup room and started with a simple personal color test.

As expected, I got results close to ‘autumn warm tone’ here as well,

and they said they would proceed with makeup using colors that suit that tone.

After setting up the products that match my personal color, the full-scale makeup began.

It didn’t just end with a personal color diagnosis,

but I was really excited because the results were immediately reflected and I got my makeup done with colors that suited me perfectly!

First of all, the skincare was done.

I think basic care is the most important step to enhance the completeness of makeup,

and I was satisfied because they took great care through several steps.

After finishing the basic care, they carefully applied sunscreen, which is an essential step, and even lip balm since my lips were very dry.

And before the main makeup, they delicately groomed my eyebrows.

It’s a small detail, but since it has a big impact on your impression, having them neatly arranged made my overall look feel much more polished.

However, since eyebrow styling is a matter of personal preference, this step can be skipped upon request, so there’s no need to worry!

Now the real base makeup began!

Based on the skin tone identified during the personal color diagnosis, they mixed a foundation color that suited me and applied it delicately.

After evenly applying it to my skin, they finished with powder, which further enhanced the longevity and neatness of the makeup.

This time, we moved on to the eye makeup stage,

After naturally shading with a base shadow, they carefully drew eyeliner to match my eye shape.

And they meticulously attached each eyelash one by one, and I was really surprised at how precise and thorough this process was!

After attaching all the lashes, they used heat to set the curl, and seeing them lift up so well made me realize once again how skilled professionals are.

Now, at the blush stage, which can be called the point of the makeup,

They mixed several colors to naturally express a shade that suited my tone well.

They also drew my eyebrows precisely, considering the overall balance, so my features looked even more defined.

And personally, the step I liked the most was the lips!

It’s always been hard for me to find a lip color that suits me, but I liked the product they used today so much that I immediately asked what it was.

They also touched up the base with concealer here and there, so my skin looked even smoother and cleaner.

In the final step, they enhanced my facial contours with shading and highlighter,

She also applied whitening cream to my neck so that the tone of my neck and face would blend naturally.

Even without any special requests from me, she accurately figured out the makeup that suited me and proceeded accordingly, so the whole experience was comfortable and amazing.

This is the final result with all the makeup completed!

It looked natural yet lively, and above all, I felt that the harmony of my face really stood out.

Not only did she perfectly address the areas I usually worry about,

Thanks to the colors that matched my tone and her detailed touch, I was so satisfied with the results that I took lots of photos :)
