Our Visit

Today, I’ll introduce you to the pot rice restaurant ‘Handasot Nampo Branch’ located in Busan!

The store is close to the open sea, and there are various attractions like Jagalchi Market nearby, making it a perfect location for a walk.

The emotional atmosphere was evident from the exterior, so my anticipation was already high even before entering.

'Handasot Nampo Branch' doesn't just have pot rice dishes, but also offers neat grilled fish like mackerel and a variety of side dishes.

The menu centered around pot rice, filled with a variety of dishes, is truly appealing.

The menu is incredibly diverse and each item feels thoughtfully prepared, so I had a hard time deciding what to eat.

From now on, I'll introduce the menu items of 'Handasot Nampo Branch' one by one!

First, 'Handasot Nampo Branch' had an amazing selection of side dishes.

Nearly ten different side dishes are neatly served, each one flavorful and made with fresh ingredients, making it feel as if you were at a high-end Korean restaurant.

If you add side dishes to the pot rice, you can enjoy an even more satisfying meal!

The first dish I’d like to introduce is Galbi Sotbap.

This menu features plenty of tender chuck flap tail that has been aged at a low temperature, so the natural flavor of the meat melts in your mouth.

The sweet and savory sauce seeps between the grains of rice, so with each bite, the rich flavor blends together perfectly.

This is a menu that anyone, regardless of age or gender, can enjoy without preferences, so I recommend it!

The next dish I’ll introduce is eel rice pot.

Freshwater eel is carefully coated with a special sauce and grilled whole in a 500ºC high-temperature oven.

The subtle smoky flavor and the eel's unique moist and tender texture were really satisfying.

In Korea, eel is a high-end ingredient that's not easy to eat often, so with this level of quality and selection at this price, I really felt it was an excellent value!

The next dish is abalone hot pot rice.

The sauce made from abalone innards is evenly soaked into the rice, giving it a luxurious taste and the texture of eating premium abalone porridge.

The chewy texture of the abalone was excellent, and the harmony with the plump shrimp inside was also amazing.

Thanks to its rich ocean flavor, every spoonful of this dish leaves a pleasant aftertaste.

This time, we're introducing Hangjeong pot rice.

It was a pot rice dish generously topped with lettuce, egg, shishito peppers, and pork jowl, making it look hearty just by appearance.

The pork jowl is coated with a spicy special sauce, blending perfectly with the chewy hot pot rice.

The chewy texture of the pork jowl is still there, so the more you chew, the nuttier it tastes. If you prefer a spicy flavor, you should definitely try it!

This is salmon rice cooked in a pot.

This dish is a luxurious pot rice made by marinating Norwegian Superior grade salmon in a special sauce and carefully grilling it over an open flame.

The salmon wasn't greasy at all, had a clean yet rich flavor, and thanks to its moist and tender texture, I couldn't stop eating it.

If you like salmon, you’ll definitely be satisfied!

King crab rice pot was a dish that first amazed me with its appearance.

The moment I saw the big crab shell on top of the rice, my excitement exploded!

Underneath, there is plenty of crab meat, and when you mix the rice well and take a bite, you can taste the flavor of the sea along with the popping texture of flying fish roe and the refreshing taste of radish sprouts, creating a truly diverse flavor.

It also contains crab guts, so I recommend this dish to those who like seafood.

'Hansot Nampo Branch' also offers special hot pot rice set menus in addition to single hot pot rice dishes.

The set menu consists of seasonal pot rice served with fish grilled to perfection in the oven or stir-fried squid and pork with a smoky flavor.

The skin of the mackerel, Spanish mackerel, and hairtail was all crispy while the inside was moist, making them the true standard of 'crispy outside, moist inside.' They weren't fishy at all, so even those who don't usually enjoy grilled fish can eat them without hesitation.

Squid and pork stir-fry is not too spicy, has a nice smoky flavor, and is a perfect combination when eaten with rice!

You can choose from mackerel, Spanish mackerel, hairtail, or squid stir-fry in your preferred combination. Please note that you can request extra lettuce for the squid stir-fry!

If you want to enjoy both hot pot rice and grilled fish, we recommend adding grilled fish as a side menu.

The set is well put together and more reasonably priced than ordering items separately, so it's great for enjoying a wider variety when visiting with several people!

In addition to grilled fish, there is also fried eel on the side menu.

Large, thick eel was fried and served, and the combination of the crispy batter with the mild eel meat was excellent.

If you dip it in the sauce that comes with it, it's really the best as a side dish with rice.

Other side menu items include fried chili peppers, fried perilla leaves, and fried shrimp.

The fried foods were all hearty and crispy, and had a clean taste without being greasy.

If you like fried food, I highly recommend trying this as a side!

‘Handasot Nampo Branch’ is a place where you can fully enjoy not only generous and heartfelt hot pot rice, but also premium grilled fish and a wide variety of side dishes all in one hearty meal.

Thanks to its neat interior, emotional atmosphere, and a menu comparable to high-end Korean set meals, this restaurant is popular not only with tourists visiting Busan but also with locals.

If you’re craving a hearty and delicious meal in Busan, or if you’re in the mood for a pot rice dish full of emotion, be sure to visit ‘Handasot Nampo Branch’ at least once!
