Our Visit
Today, I visited the personal color and body/figure analysis hot spot ‘Colorize Myeongdong Main Store’ located in Myeongdong!
It was very close to Myeong-dong Station and located on the main street of Myeong-dong, so the accessibility was really great.
I was surprised by the fairly large size and beautifully decorated interior as soon as I entered.
At the entrance, there is a Tiara Zone where various tiaras are displayed.
You could try on various tiaras yourself, and in the experience zone, you could also sample perfumes!
It didn’t feel like just a place to get a personal color analysis, but more like visiting a beauty pop-up store.
After looking around here and there, I was guided inside, and there was a waiting area prepared.
In that space, small color cards were on display, so while waiting, you could take selfies against various colored backgrounds and pass the time.
I wasn't bored during the wait because I could choose which color suits me!
The interior of the store had a bright and clean atmosphere overall with a pink tone, and with flowers placed here and there, it felt like I was in a garden in the middle of the city.
Now, to begin the personal color diagnosis in earnest, I entered the consultation room and filled out the questionnaire.
The questions made me reflect on my preferences or tendencies, such as my usual favorite style, colors I often wear, and the atmosphere I want.
Foreign language questionnaires are also available for international customers, so please feel free to refer to them!
Before the diagnosis, they first gave an overall explanation of the theory and classification system of personal color.
Personal color is divided into four types: spring, summer, fall, and winter, and within those, it is further classified in detail.
‘Colorize Myeongdong Main Store’ uses diagnostic cloths with the Pantone Color System to accurately diagnose personal colors
There is the advantage of being able to easily find my best color through an online search!
Also, I was even more excited because they said they install special lighting to analyze colors more precisely for a more accurate diagnosis.
First, they had me sit down and checked my skin tone and eye color.
The editor said that the neutral tone is between shade 21 and 22, and that mixing a little of shade 22 into shade 21 foundation would look natural.
Also, the eye color is a light reddish brown, and it's said that gray-mixed brown lenses look good!
Afterward, I put on a gown and cap, and the full diagnosis began as various colored fabrics were placed against my face.
The editor suited bright colors well, and especially said that pink and yellow tones looked good on them.
When I actually put the fabric against my face, the bright colors made my face look more radiant and three-dimensional, but the dark colors made my dark circles stand out more, which was fascinating.
As a result, the editor was diagnosed as 'Autumn Muted Soft'!
After the diagnosis, they placed the best and worst color fabrics under my face to show the difference directly, and it looked completely different.
I think getting this kind of analysis once would be really helpful when choosing clothes or cosmetics in everyday life.
You also looked at matching patterns, and the editor said that subtle and harmonious patterns suit you better than those with strong contrasts.
I finished the personal color analysis and listened to the comprehensive explanation.
The editor has a soft, warm-toned autumn mute type, and a gentle image suits them well.
Pink colors with some saturation also suit you well, and as a second color, spring bright came out, while your worst color is winter deep.
The editor says that colors that are too dark can make your face look dull.
It was very useful because I could also get recommendations for matching hair colors and accessories.
Finally, we did a personal makeup pouch check.
They checked if the cosmetics I usually use match my personal color, and also shared great tips for each product, so it was really helpful!
There was also a self-makeup zone in one corner of the store where you could try various cosmetics yourself.
It was convenient because I could test various cosmetics that match my diagnosed personal color without having to go to a cosmetics store and test them separately!
The editor also tested cosmetics that suit the fall mute soft tone, and even tried out tints she had always been curious about!
In addition to cosmetics, glasses and accessories were also available, and you could try them on yourself.
It was also fun to try on glasses that suit my face shape or bracelets that look good on me!
The ‘Colorize Myeong-dong Main Store’ has another charm: a variety of photo zones!
It's a place where you can take a perfect photo anywhere, so instead of feeling like I came for a personal color analysis, it felt more like I was visiting a beauty pop-up store for fun.
After the personal color analysis, the optional body shape and bone structure analysis followed.
First, they checked the back of my head, neck length, and face shape.
The editor has a rounded back of the head, a neck that's a bit longer than average, and a slightly elongated face shape, so they said that adding volume to the sides when styling the hair would make the face look smaller.
Afterward, they measured my shoulder, waist, and hip sizes, and actually felt my bones to assess my body shape.
Interestingly, skeletal diagnosis is based on looking at the bones, so no matter how much weight you gain or lose, your diagnosed skeletal type doesn't change!
Thanks to your detailed notes and explanations along the way, I was able to focus better and learned a lot about my body type.
You also explained the body shape, and the editor turned out to be a wave type!
The wave type is a body shape where the bones do not stand out, and styles that emphasize the waist suit you well.
It was easier to understand because you explained it using famous celebrities as examples!
After the diagnosis, they also provided a lot of materials containing information about matching colors, outfits, and cosmetics.
I think it would be good to keep this in mind when shopping in the future!
After the explanation was finished, I moved to the makeup room to receive the optional quick makeup.
The editor tried adding the quick makeup, which only covers point makeup, to the options of a 60-minute full makeup course and a 30-minute quick makeup course.
At 'Colorize Myeongdong,' not only can you get a personal color analysis, but if you add options, you can also experience K-beauty firsthand, which was great.
They did my makeup based on the diagnosis results, so it felt like it suited my face much better than usual.
I was satisfied because I could get both a personal color analysis and makeup at the same time.
Lastly, I also tried the optional experience of making perfume.
I was able to directly smell the scents of famous brands and choose the scent that suits me to create my own perfume.
I chose a scent that suits the autumn mute tone, mixed the base and the essence myself, and created my own unique perfume.
You can start using the finished perfume after one week.
The 'Colorize Myeong-dong Main Store' located in Myeong-dong was truly satisfying, as the attention to detail for customers could be felt throughout the store.
It was a place where I could have an experience beyond just a personal color analysis, and with the various activities and the chance to take great photos, I think it will be a long-lasting memory.
Also, they carefully provided offline gifts such as a color book, color cards, and various styling guides.
It was a great opportunity to learn exactly about my personal color!
If you're considering getting a personal color analysis in Korea, we highly recommend the K-beauty hotspot, ‘Colorize’!
