Our Visit
We made a visit to CHOP Hair ourselves to get a Korean-style perm! CHOP Hair has its name because the shop focuses on the importance of the foundation of a haircut, and therefore is very detailed when it comes to cuts!
When you enter CHOP Hair Hongdae, you'll see AVEDA products on display. AVEDA is environmentally-friendly and healthy for the hair, so you know you'll be getting good treatment here!
On the first floor there's a waiting area, lockers, a separate room for washing hair, and 8 spots for hairstyling,
The second floor is a space used on busy days with many customers, such as weekends, and as soon as you go up, there is a waiting area. There are only two spots for hairstyling available here, so you can receive a more private beauty treatment.
After showing your Creatrip reservation confirmation voucher to the staff, they will take you to the locker room to store your things. You can set the password yourself, so don't worry about your things!
Customers with reservations are provided with a complimentary drink! I ordered an Americano.
Before the sitting down for a haircut, they washed my hair.
They helped me determine how much I wanted to cut based on my own preferences and the style I want. I recently had a haircut, so I just decided to go for some layers.
Then, it's time to proceed with the perm and clinic, or hair treatment. I chose a clinic called Renaissance, which consists of a total of 5 steps. This clinic is applied during the process of doing the perm.
First they applied an herbal treatment and covered my hair with moisture for about 5 minutes.
Then they applied the second herbal treatment to my hair.
They covered my hair with plastic wrap and used a device to heat it up.
Now it's time for the roll perm! I have more of a round-face shape so they also suggested to perm the side bangs to frame the face.
They only kept it heated for about 5 to 10 minutes.
Once the procedure was complete, they removed the device and let it cool down for about 2 minutes. I was really excited to see how the perm turned out!
The process isn't finished yet, but I could already tell that the perm came out beautifully! I have slightly wavy hair, but perms don't take well to my hair, so they had to roll it a little tighter so that the perm would actually show after washing it.
They used a hair straightener to smooth out any kinks or marks in the hair.
Then, they applied herbal treatment one more time to prevent damage from the perm. Right after, my hair was really well curled and bouncy!
For the final time, I went to the shampoo room to wash everything out. They applied more treatment and even gave a scalp massage!
While drying the hair, they left in a hair roll in my bangs to give more volume. The hair should be about 80% dry when applying essence. After drying it more, they applied hair oil. To help the perm last longer, follow the instructions that the hairstylist gives you for the washing and drying process!
My hair was finally finished after one final dry! I was perfectly satisfied because the perm came out just as I wanted.
When I see the before and after photos, I felt even more satisfied!
