Recently in Korea, it is very popular to get a facial massage because it helps to make the face look smaller and your features look more defined.
That's why after searching many places, I decided to go to Blue Arirang to experience this service.
Blue Arirang is a fairly famous spa with facial massage services and is sought after by many Koreans and foreigners.
My first impression of this spa was that it's a very cute space with blue tones like the sea. The spa is not too big but very clean and cozy.
Upon entering, you will be greeted enthusiastically by the spa owner. On the wall, there are billboards and posters introducing the spa's services. If you have any questions feel free to ask. The spa owner is always willing to explain in detail.
Although only Korean and Japanese are available here, each massage package has basic English explanations so you can fully understand.
The other side of the spa has the products used for tanning on display.
The space is divided into many small rooms such as Waxing Room, Massage Room, and V.I.P Room. Depending on the service you will receive, the staff will guide you to different rooms.
The room is quite private and clean. The soft light makes you feel instantly relaxed.

First you need to go to the changing room. The changing room is divided into men's and women's rooms. Men's clothes are blue and women's clothes are pink. You will wear a strapless shirt, shorts and a large scarf around your shoulders and then go to the massage room.
I entered the V.I.P room (only 2 massage beds). First, you will soak your feet in warm water.
You will then be given a full body massage by the staff. The oil that Blue Arirang uses is Medi Peel Customize Gold Therapy Body Oil. The scent is very soothing.
The masseuse's movements made me feel really relaxed. Since my shoulders were a bit stiff, she made sure to massage my shoulders and back very well.
It's quite painful when stiff muscles are massaged, but it takes pain to soften it. After the massage, I really felt my body was lighter and more refreshed.
In this full body massage package, you will also get a leg massage. It felt very nice and comfortable when being massaged, especially the feet and calves.
Only then did I realize how tired my legs were.
Then came the main part, the experience that I looked forward to the most, which was the small facial massage + gold mask (Gold Therapy Small Face Massage). I was curious if my face would become shiny like the Korean actors after the massage.

First, the masseuse will remove your makeup, so you don't have to worry if you have makeup on when you come. Blue Arirang removes your makeup and exfoliates your skin very carefully so that the massage step can be most effective.
After removing makeup, the staff will wipe your face with a warm towel and begin massaging to increase blood flow in your face.
The staff will also massage your neck and collarbone to help you relax, melt fat, and create sexy, feminine shoulders.
Then came the main event, the small face massage. I have to say it's very…painful
I had heard that this type of massage is quite painful and when I did it, I found it really painful, but beauty is pain right? This facial massage is also used by many celebrities!
The masseuse's hands are really skilled and you will feel the fat on your face being melted away.
After the massage is complete, you will see a clear change in your face, and the V-line of your chin will be more visible. However, to maintain the V-Line and reduce facial fat, you should go for a monthly facial massage.
After the face fat has been melted, a soothing mask will be applied. In this massage package, a 24k gold mask is used. Wow, it's real gold! This was my first time getting a gold mask at the spa, not the gold essence sheet masks bought at Olive Young, so I was really excited.
A gold mask is effective in reducing wrinkles, crow's feet, skin spots, limiting aging, stimulating skin cells, brightening skin, etc. It has many benefits. No wonder the gold mask has always been popular in Korea.
You will also be given a collagen mask to make your skin more tight, smooth and youthful. After applying the mask for 5 minutes, you have completed the last step of this small face massage + gold mask package.

Exit Myeongdong Station Exit 8.

Continue going straight until you see Olive Young at the big intersection.
Blue Arirang is located at Taeheung building to the right of Olive Young.
